In response to the popularity of the original map/app, the entire team at Butterfruit Labs has been investigating the coffee in Brooklyn and Queens (the birthplace of NY's coffee scene may it be argued). There has never been such a rampant, highly-caffeinated, group of geeks. Dozens of shops encountered mysterious interviewers demanding specifics about their coffee.
Ok, so it's not all of Brooklyn and Queens, but it has the areas with good coffee. A few lines, such as the L and the G, had fierce competition. Other stops (ahem, Woodside and Corona - and come on Barclays Center) had our researchers struggling to find one good cup. Overall, this map should not disappoint, and hopefully, will incite some passionate (yet hiply nonchalant) rage! Without further ado, the map:

I insist on a little more love for Southside Coffee (Prospect Ave stop in Brooklyn) - if it's the Yelp ratings you're after, they're higher than Roots! But their coffee is truly top notch and the ambiance just perfect.
ReplyDeleteHaha, definitely not just after Yelp reviews ("boo hoo they were rude to me once, 1 star"), but Southside was just a little too far from the station. I agree, awesome coffee!

ReplyDeleteI have worked out of Variety from time to time, but Beaner Bar on the Graham Avenue L stop was rated in Time Out as one of the most decadent hot cocoas in the city, and their selection of coffee drinks, cookies and pastries is unrivaled. They serve hemp milk!

ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic. But Cafe Regular is definitely not the best coffee shop near the 4th ave 9th street F/G/R. It's Crop to Cup or Four & Twenty Blackbirds. Doesn't even come close to those two.
